Postnatal Yoga is on hiatus for Spring and Summer.

Postnatal Yoga at Yoga Trek is designed to specifically support your postpartum physical, spiritual, and emotional self.

Your not-yet-crawling baby can join you for this class, lying alongside your mat while you experience yoga poses. In this class you will strengthen your body and take care of yourself. Postnatal classes will focus on rebuilding strength in the muscles of the core, back and pelvis; relieving and letting go of tension in the neck and shoulders; opening the chest; and more. You will also have the opportunity to dialogue about issues and ideas with other mothers with newborns, building a support network that will likely grow off the mat.  In this safe environment you may take care of all needs as they arise, allowing your baby to be fully self-expressed while also taking care of your self.

 Don't forget:

  1. Bring your baby’s favorite blanket(s), baggies to dispose of diapers, and any small items to support your baby during the class (rattles and other handheld toys, for example); and
  2. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to set up your mat and make your baby comfortable.

Testimonials

"I came to YogaTrek a couple of years ago on the advice of a friend, Judy, whom I trust but whom I've always felt surpassed me in the "athletic skills department."  So I was intimidated and extremely reticent about whether I'd be able to meet what seemed like a challenging atmosphere at the studio.

The first time I walked in, what struck me was that brick wall‚ so solid and sort of a comfort. The teachers were, and have always been prepared and knowledgeable as well as warm and truly happy to be working there. I credit this in great part with the owner,  Kate Wester's, ability to find good teachers and treat them with the respect and love that makes them feel like they are part of a family and not just an employee.  That trickles down to students!

I'm a regular now (I've quit the gym and instead, I usually get the monthly unlimited card). I credit Yogatrek with my physical and spiritual growth.  I can't say anything negative about any of the teachers‚ all bring something extraordinary to class.  I've made so many good friends here, and kept old ones (thanks Judy!). And I always gravitate to that comforting brick wall."
