Alison Welch

Alison has spent much of her life upside down, having participated in competitive gymnastics for more than a decade as a child and teenager. Let’s just say her parents’ hardest job at dinner time was stopping Alison from walking on her hands around the table after each bite of food (no joke). When she became thirty, Alison found her physical and spiritual home through practicing and teaching yoga. Teaching yoga brings out Alison’s inner calm and connection to mother nature, while also enhancing her southern accent having grown up in Little Rock, Arkansas. Alison obtained her 200 hour teaching certification in 2005 in Baltimore, MD, from Kim Manfredi of Charm City Yoga, and she has been teaching ever since. Alison’s style of teaching vinyasa yoga is grounded in Kim’s deep knowledge of yoga’s history and texts, coupled with her diverse training background which includes Astanga, Bikram, Kripalu, Vinyasa, among others. Alison also has a passion for supporting women through fertility, pregnancy, and parenting through fertility, prenatal and postnatal yoga classes and the use of yoga during and after childbirth. Alison enjoys learning with her students while nurturing and challenging them in their path toward finding self-acceptance, strength, and balance through yoga. She is currently toward a childbirth education certification. Alison’s three-year-old daughter Sophie is a constant inspiration for living a fearless, self-expressed, limitless, and upside-down life.
