Andrew Harvey will begin by describing the tremendous relationship between Rumi and his great beloved Shams of Tabriz and pay special attention to how its heartbreak shattered Rumi open into divine consciousness. Using Rumi's story and some of the magnificent poems that were created through it Andrew Harvey will invite discussion as to how personal heartbreak can lead to great positive change and how heartbreak at what is happening in the world can be the door into a much more urgent confrontation with the problems of the world and into a commitment to do everything to heal them. The session will end with a spiritual practice that is the core of Andrew Harvey's new book The Hope, a Guide to Sacred Activism which will help people open to their own particular heartbreak at the world and find the mission that lies concealed in it.

Sacred Activism.
