Are you curious about Ashtanga? In Intro to Ashtanga you will learn the basics of the practice including the sequence of poses, alignment, proper breath coordination(vinyasa), energy locks (bandhas) and focal points (dristhis)
The pace is relaxed and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Ashtanga yoga is the method of yoga taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. It is the dynamic system of sequential postures, linked through coordinated breath and movement (vinyasa), which generates a purifying internal heat. While many benefits of the asana practice are experienced immediately, diligent practice of the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga sets one on a path of profound transformation. In the Ashtanga classes, you will practice the same series of poses each class with little variation.
Registration is required for new students. If you have taken the course you may repeat it or attend as a drop-in student. Experienced Ashtanga students may also attend as a drop-in.
